New Look: Bedroom and Bath Transformation in Massachusetts

Massachusetts bedroom after painting

When it comes to a home makeover, a fresh coat of paint can completely change how a space feels. Recently, Frank Demore Painting completed a full restoration and repaint of a Massachusetts bedroom and adjoining bath, showcasing the difference that professional preparation and premium products can make.

Bedroom Restoration and Painting

The 13×14.7×8 bedroom received careful attention from start to finish. Our team began by removing the wallpaper border and sanding down areas where it had peeled. Several hairline cracks were repaired and reinforced, followed by a skim coat along the ceiling perimeter for a seamless surface.

After priming the walls, we applied one coat of Valspar Dead Flat on the ceiling and two coats of Benjamin Moore Ben Matte on the walls. The trim, bifold doors, and window casings were refreshed with Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Satin, while the baseboard heater covers were spray-finished with Rust-Oleum High-Heat Enamel. Even the floor received a durable finish using Benjamin Moore Porch & Floor Enamel.

For homeowners searching for the best painting technique for walls or wondering how to paint a bedroom, this project is a strong example of how prep work and quality products make all the difference.

Bathroom and Linen Closet Update

The 6×6×8 full bath, complete with a linen closet, required wallpaper removal on half the walls. We washed and prepped all surfaces, patched problem areas, and primed as needed before painting.

The ceiling was finished in Valspar Dead Flat, while the walls received two coats of Benjamin Moore Ben Matte. Trim, doors, and window casings were coated in Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Satin for a clean, lasting finish. The linen closet shelves and cubbies were sanded, primed, and painted for a fresh, functional update.

“Reasonable price. Another great job by Frank (and Tony). They were able to squeeze our job in and did a fabulous job. We have an old house and Frank knows all the techniques to make the old walls look great. Excellent attention to detail and great communication.”

The DeMore Difference: Prep and Quality

Great results don’t just come from paint — they come from preparation. Our team dedicated time to removing dust, sanding every surface, and caulking all trim and corners. Tack cloth ensured a dust-free finish, and after painting, we completed a full cleanup and furniture reset.

If you’re choosing paint for interior wall projects, remember that surface prep is just as important as the paint itself. For more tips for painting, visit our advice section for professional insights.
